Sports Facilities

In September 2014, Church Drive used a grant from Primary Spaces to have a new ‘Sports Cage’ built. This is used on a daily basis by children during break-time and lunchtime, and is also used during Games lessons and by various after school clubs. It is also available for use by our after-school care group, Bubbles.
The Key Stage 2 playground also has an activity zone, built in September 2013, that is timetabled for each class to use once a week as part of our drive to keep children active at playtime. In addition to this, we also have a separate football area and basketball hoop.
These facilities are available for outdoor PE in addition to the other PE resources currently inside school. The majority of Gym sessions take place in the hall and wall bars, benches, boxes and mats are regularly used.
Although we have no school field, we have been allowed use of a grassy space across the road from the school. This is regularly used by a range of after school clubs, and some classes use this space for Games lessons in the warmer, drier months.
All Key Stage 2 children are given annual swimming lessons. These usually take place at our local pool, Bebington Oval.
Children from Lower Key Stage 2 have the opportunity to go away for a summer residential at The Conway Centre, Tattenhall, while Year 6 children have the chance to go to the Kingswood Centre at Colomendy, North Wales.
